Mangata Bistro & Bar

My partner and I were only in Ayers Rock for a couple of nights. We chose Mangata for our first night dinner and it was sensational. The food was delicious, meals well-priced and the service from Eva was superb. We chose to share 3 of the 'light meals' which weren't light on quantity or quality, including a delicious soft-shell crab and vegetable tempura. The De Bortoli champagne was fantastic, especially for the price. We had two glasses of those each and shared a dessert. All up, just over $50 each. Great value and a beautiful venue in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommend!

The service here was pretty decent and the menu was really good. We heard the ribs were amazing and were not disappointed. The food was exceptional. If you feel like ribs its def the place to go. But all the food was good. They split the bill for us and were great in recommending a pub for a drink.

Wasn't hungry enough for a buffet breakfast which was overpriced anyway at $28 each. Asked staff if we could just have tea and toast or cereal but its not available! You either order a buffet breakfast or go hungry. When i questioned this staff werent interested. Never ever been to a hotel where guests are held to ransom to pay $28 or go hungry. Shambles. Some staff were lovely but some totally disinterested.

The bar and surroundings say stop here for a drink. Make sure you ask for Jack at the bar. He's an excellent crafter of cocktails and mocktails and has a great personality as well. It was an enjoyable visit and we will be back when the clockwork strikes 20:00!

If you want a chat, they can be pleasantly talkative, if you just want service, they do very well with that too.nStaff here are the main reason I’ve been back and back again, they really make it a pleasant experience.nAlthough I do not smoke, I can recommend the smoking area here, it is a wonderful relaxing outdoor area with seating, gardens and manicured ground (I know that sounds weird but you have to see to believe, they actually rake and tidy the bare red earth)
