Myer Perth

Today I went to my regular Myer Perth. Had great experience at Aesop where a young man was so helpful not only with product knowledge but what would work best on my skin type. Then went to benefit and made multiple purchases before I went to the intimate section for woman. I grabbed a couple of bras to try on and headed to the change room. I was. Met by two older ladies that immediately told me that I would be larger than what I had grabbed and not the DD I was trying. I said I would like to try them on anyways and they told me it would be a “waste of time”. I tried one on and heard knocking at my door asking if she could come in to see the bra on, I said no as I think it fit properly but wouldn’t mind seeing the size up. She then replied that it’s her job to come in and I said I didn’t feel comfortable with it as I had a medical issue and that I was happy with how it fit. She then sighed and started to talk to her co worker about me. Then I asked to get one size up and replied with fine. She brought it back in a 32DD in a different colour even though I asked for a 34E. I asked her to get the right size in what ever colour they had available and she sighed again and started to be rude to me and I told her I was leaving and left. It’s a shame as one experience from one section completely changed my opinion on the whole of Myer. I was going to finish up my Christmas shopping there but have decided to go to David Jones as I was so embarrassed about how I was spoken to. Which is crazy as I am over 30 and don’t usually take it personally but was so shocked about my experience I had to write this.

The staff are always pleasant, the prices are sometimes a little high, you just need to look around and shop at the right times... Great job though... I love the blue glass effect on the outside... Looks great.....!!

Interesting. Talking to a friend today and she mentioned that Myers Perth has lost it's "elegance". I have to agree. I came here about a month ago, they were having sales. People had kids running around, there was a sales lady on the speaker box doing a "carpet sales" style advertising on the bargains to be had. I thought I entered the twilight zone. The place was a mess, no social distancing at all. Paper and shoe boxes everywhere. This is not what you'd expect from a high end department store. It's fine if you like crowds, or to see what it looks like when there's no one there and it's rquiet on morose. Times have really changed. Also, haven't been there since the renovations finished. It could be good but I'll update when I do.
