Check in at the reception and the view are definitely worth recommending. 4 Stars, no doubt. The room is ok, plenty of space, but a few maintenance issues. No more than 3 Stars. But the restaurant certainly does not live up to its price tag, both in terms of quality of food and service. The chicken linguine was just a very heavy, gooey mass of overcooked pasta, cheese and cream with add-ons of capsicum and processed salami. No crunch at all in the squid starter either, just heavy and soggy from the cooking oil. Waiters brought the main course and didn't even ask if I wanted another glass of wine. I had to start queueing for it at the bar, as my dinner was getting cold. Gave up on that, and didn't finish my dinner. Not even two stars for that. Overall average, sadly, and the view alone can't make up for it.

People make places. I checked in a bit late, but was met by a friendly helpful concierge. My room was not quite ready, for which she apologised profusely. I decided to go to dinner in the meantime and ordered a great steak and glass of red. Again, barman knowledgeable and friendly. Before my meal arrived concierge came to my table with my room key and another apology Great meal finished, arrived at a clean and neat room and spent a great night. Only downside is that the bathroom needs some reno (I know they are in process of doing the whole facility). The shower was really not up to standard. However, that being the only negative my team and I will certainly be back when we are in Hedland again.

Fabulous greeting at reception. This old venue is in a fabulous location, it is quite tired but kept clean. Due to Covid -19 They didn't have the breakfast buffet open, but would provide a Continental breakfast pack on request. Dinner was available.

For $235 a night this place is basic as hell. The shower runs at a dribble and the bathroom needs a lot of work to clean up the plaster, taps, shower head and curtin. The room is small and the tv is in the corner, a really inconvenient place if two people are going to watch it in bed. Unless of course they want to sit on the left side of the bed next to each other. There was no remote for the air con and when I asked for one I received it with flat batteries. The food is good but the service is slow. Kudos to the owners and manager, for being able to charge this price, have the hotel mostly full and not do any upgrades to warrant the price. If you can commit murder and get away with it, why not!!!
