Charters Towers Visitor Information Centre

The lady was very friendly and helpful and allowed us to see the best of Charters Towers a brief summary of its history and what we could in the only 20 minutes we had to spend in town due to just passing through. We were told about it's origins do the gold rush and how much the city has shrunk. They have some great pamphlets you can grab and have a read of in the car. We ended up visiting towerhill with a beautiful view around us and seeing many rock wallabies.

About the only thing opening in CT on a Sunday lunchtime apart from a xww scruffy pubs. Some historic architecture makes a cruise around the CBD worthwhile but otherwise I wouldn't bother unless is is a week day.

This is a very lovely QLD Town..it is a very friendly (allways has been)town ,lots of ancient history, and throughout the years the people have remained the same.
