Chinatown Taxis

Perfectly fine taxi service. Waited for a bit on hold, but taxi was prompt, they text me a few minutes before arriving, driver was good, car was clean and we got where we wanted to be nice and quickly. All the things you want and expect from a taxi service :)

We used this service twice. They arrived on time and both drivers were very polite. One driver in particular provided fabulous conversation & customer service.

I wish I could leave a review for this service but it is hard to considering I only was able to ride in a Chinatown taxi once or twice out of the handful of times I tried to order one during the 6 weeks I lived in Broome. Operator is rude and unprofessional. First experience- I ordered a taxi to pick my boyfriend up from the airport. I ordered it an hour in advance for 4:35 PM. My boyfriend waits patiently in the heat until 4:50, calls them asking where the taxi is. They try to convince him I ordered it for 4:45 not 4:35. Whatever, maybe they misheard me so I didn’t care. At 5, he calls a different taxi service. A Chinatown driver finally shows up 45 min after the scheduled time and my boyfriend stood him up and got a lovely ride with a different company instead with a driver that came when he said he would. Second experience- A friend and I tried to order a taxi on a Tuesday evening and we were told it would be a 15 min wait. We ordered one anyways. Nearly 30-45 min later of waiting, we ended up walking. We tried to call a Chinatown taxi several other times throughout our stay there. The operator was always rude and unprofessional. Drivers were late, didn’t show up, or we WATCHED them pick up other people when it was obvious it was our taxi. For example, we ordered one on another occasion- watched the driver pick a female group up further down the street. Then we were the only ones left in the area. We have to wait an additional 20 minutes only to have a Chinatown taxi that was called by a woman named Rosa offer to drive us. Most likely for the group of women that got picked up earlier & the other Chinatown driver had no loyalty to us whatsoever, just picking up the first people he saw. The driver even tried to convince us to come with him, so so shifty. This whole company is the most crooked and shady I have ever come across. If you are in Broome, I would HIGHLY recommend just hiring a bike or rental car. Don’t bother with the shifty cab companies in this town. There’s a couple that we had OK experiences with, but overall just avoid the hassle if you can. I would walk ANYWHERE in Broome at any hour of the day or evening before ever giving a dime to Chinatown Taxis.

3 out of 4 taxi online pre bookings, that we made, were cancelled 20 minutes prior to pickup time due to "Driver unable to find passenger" . The rides we took were fine, not a useful service if you cannot rely on the arrival of the service. I have no idea if this level of reliability is only seen via the online booking system, or all bookings.
