Easy with preorder system. Making life easier. However, that is something that the Thrifty Car Rental might need to consider to improve.
So far the system only allowed the driver to be the same as the the credit card holder.
I was the cardholder but my partner wasn’t. But he is the primary driver not me. Adding an additional driver is optional however this has adding an extra unnecessary cost for us.
The Thrifty should have provided more flexibility of the service to deal with the situation like this.
Hope they can improve their system before we can travel to use their service again.

Our 4WD DIED 6 days in to our 16 day contract leaving us STRANDED on Gibb! Multiple people including a mechanic tried to start it. Battery was fine.. starter on Pejero was dead. Called Thrifty who told us there were no other vehicles available, suggested we hitch a ride with friends for the next 5 days in hopes of a second vehicle becoming available in Kununurra, then STOPPED TAKING OUR CALLS REFUSED TO RETURN CALLS!!!
We found a second rental agency willing and able to help the next day!
Thrifty claims vehicle was in perfect working condition, is charging us recovery fees and, although vehicle was in Thrifty’s possession they are REFUSING TO ISSUE REFUND FOR CANCELLED PORTION OF CONTRACT!
Coyld not fault them. Staff were excellent
