It was lovely to come here and pick a bowl of mixed berries. The grandchildren would love it!!
P.s. about 6 different varieties here.
We have not been treated this poorly before and are still shaking while writing this.
We have 2 young children whose grandparents enjoy taking them fruit picking. As we are all in Denmark for Christmas, we organised to meet up at the berry farm for berry picking.
The grandparents' accomodation was further away so told us to go ahead with the grandkids first. They were willing to travel nearly 30km to watch the joy on the children's faces and capture the moment in photos. When they arrived, we called out to them from the fields to let them know where we were so they could find us. B. I. G. M. I. S. T. A . K. E.
Nanna ( who waited by the car because of arthritis) bore the brunt of it. While standing there, she was told by the male owner in no uncertain terms "we don't like it when people just rock up here for a free feed". And " people who just come for free tasting is stealing". amongst gems of similar vein.
She was so upset and taken back she walked away immediately. She didn't tell us what was said until later because she didn't want to spoil the kids' fun. Even if she did, we'd probably be too shocked ( as we still are now) to respond appropriately. We have been rocked to the core. Never ever in our entire lives have we faced such rudeness. To be called THIEVES!
It is reasonable to assume that people who visit the farm and are willing to pay $28 for a shallow container of berries are there for the experience, more than the berries.
Unfortunately it seems we got the experience of a lifetime.
Very happy to be allowed to take my dogs fruit picking with me! Great experience, hard to find but persevere it is worth it.
Had an enjoyable morning picking berries. Owner is very friendly & knowledgeable. You can tell they are dedicated & have a passion for what they do. Owner advised which berries are in abundance and which are scarce so your not out there just trying to find them. A must try are the jams & ice scream!
Hard to find, and when you get there you don’t get the feeling it’s an operating berry farm servicing visitors.
