Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park

Had a great time up close with the animals! Bianca was great and full of knowledge about the Koalas as well as other animals and information about the island. We opted for a snake hold and the keeper was great and also full of knowledge. Very impressed with the knowledge and passion from the staff willing to share and educate us

We were so disappointed by our visit to this wildlife park. I was expecting something aligned to the natural environment of Kangaroo Island. However was so distressed to see birds in tiny cages, animals in small spaces with little or no natural environment. It was dirty, run down and did not look or smell clean for the animals. Overall though I was so sad while I was there for these animals. The crocodile had a small pool of water and a very small space, birds were in tiny cages - so sad they had no room to fly around. Many of the reptiles were sharing small spaces with so many others. Please find a way to prepare larger spaces for these beautiful animals. We had to leave after 15 minutes as I just could not see any more of this and also wanted to let my 9 and 12 year old know that this is to how animals should be kept. I spoke to one of the staff and her comment was that she did not agree but we all had the right to our own opinion. To their credit they refunded our entrance fee and did offer for me to speak to the manager. I wasn't sure what the manager could do about the conditions and was so upset that I declined, but I do appreciate that they did offer this. I sincerely hope that something is done to improve this space for animals. We have seen many wildlife parks around the world and these conditions were not among any of the best. Overall quite sad, but I genuinely hope they consider upgrading and providing more space more akin to the natural wonderland that is KI.

With several new exhibits being built, along with upgrades to existing ones, there is plenty to see at the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park. The staff are always keen to answer questions about the animals, or the park in general. The facilities are good, and the pricing is well and truly affordable, and they are devoted to helping the unique wildlife of Kangaroo Island. A pleasant place to visit. We recommend setting aside a couple of hours to fully appreciate this park. We'll be back next time we visit the island.

Fabulous! As good or better than any mainland animal park. The keepers were so welcoming and very friendly. They engaged in conversations at any time you came across one, not just at the presentation times. Highly recommended

Absolutely loved my time here. Lots of gorgeous animals and wildlife. My favorites are Koalas, got to pat them and hold one for a good amout of time. Well worth the additional fee. Take your time to ask questions and learn about the animals, staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. A must visit!
