Thomsons Rottnest

Tasty seafood and good selection of drinks. The view over Thomson Bay back towards Perth is fantastic. Probably better during the day as the Perth lights at night from this distance aren't particularly impressive. Although the illuminated offshore drilling rig added a bit more light. Sophie the waitress was awesome.

I am a vegan and it is a rarity to find a good vegan option at restaurants (yes I know, I am lucky they have a vegan option in the first place) but this was the first time I have really enjoyed the vegan option that was available. I ordered the warm cauliflower and lentil salad and it was possibly one of the best vegan dishes I have ever had (also a substantial amount on the plate and very reasonable price). These guys don’t need more that one vegan option because this is the only one anyone should order. I would love to know what their recipe is for that dish. For any vegans visiting Rottnest, I highly recommend this restaurant. Well done guys!

I'm not sure why they display the menu when most item are unavailable.nAfter being informed that our first three lunch choices were not available we settled on just a pot of tea since we were seated and the view was nice we wanted to enjoy the location. When the pot of tea arrived had to ask for a clean cup as the on supplied was clearly used and dirty, not merely stained by tannen. We opted to dine at another restaurant. On a positive note, the location and view are great real shame the service is so lacking this place has great potential.

I had the snapper dish that tasted okay on the day. Next day I was violently ill. Never will go and eat at this restaurant again when I come back to Rottnest!! Lovely view though...

A nice view, and conveniently located adjacent to the kids playground but that's about it. Food is over priced and underwhelming; and has been each time we have visited. The kitchen are not accommodating to even minor requests, in fact they are rude when asked. Hotel Rottnest is better value and more consistent, with the same vista.
