Chen's Kitchen

Usually great service. Today was TERRIBLE. Upon complaining that we had only received 1 dish of 4, they spoke freely between staff in Chinese and walked away. No apology - no update when we may get our food. Finally 1 more dish comes... they still didnt get it! Grrr

Ever feel like you've wasted your money after you've visited a place? This feeling has become more common visiting Chen's Kitchen lately. Ordered Spring Rolls, Shark Fin and Crab Meat Soup, Lobster, Roast Duck and Salted Egg King Prawns. Lobster came out with the spring rolls which were an entrée for one person. Ten minutes later the soup came out however it was the wrong soup so it went back in. Fifteen minutes later we still haven't received our soups and the lobster is sitting there going cold. Rice finally comes out and I have to ask what's happening with the soups. The waiter tells me that they're really busy so he doesn't know. I let him know that the main course came out well before the entrees and to please check on the soups. Soups come out shortly after. The duck then comes out half an hour after the lobster. The duck is rubbery and the lobster is overcooked. An hour and fifteen minutes goes by and we still haven't seen our third main course. After speaking with the waiter, he comes back and informs me the kitchen just yell at him so he doesn't know when it's coming. We then receive the King Prawns 5 minutes later. This is probably the last time I visit Chen's as incompetence is now a common occurrence.

Went with 8 others for a Sunday Yum Cha. On the whole the food was very good, with the steamed dim sum being superior to the fried offerings.nThe service was excellent and certainly better than my experience at your average Chinese restaurant.

Dim sum lunch. Pleasent service. Warm atmosphere. Food was fantastic...well done
