Cafe Brunelli Salisbury

Came here today with the family for lunch. I ordered the steak special plus Dianne. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium it was so overcooked it was like chewing leather. the only thing I enjoyed on my plate was the squid and prawns. the Dianne sauce was peppery to the point where I questioned whether I had Dianne or pepper gravy. someone else ordered the fish of the day and if i am honest the price did not match the portion size. Won't be back.

We both ordered the chicken schnitzel, one with classic gravy and the other with mushroom gravy. The servings were very good in size, however the schnitzels were far too over cooked and so it was like trying to chew on an old tyre. The saving grace was the service staff who were great, but somehow doubt we'll be returning. Sad really as it is ideal before or after movies.

Came to dinner tonight just before 6:30 for a 7:30 movie. Ordered just before 6:30 to allow for plenty of time to wait and then eat before our movie. Waited for 45-50 minutes and saw many tables that arrived and ordered well after us receiving their food. After 50 minutes, a member of our party asked a worker what was going on with our food, and the girl informed us that the docket had been lost and our food had not been prepared. She offered to have our food prepared as soon as possible, however, we could not wait for food as our movie was set to start soon. We asked for a refund instead. The girl who we dealt with was very apologetic and helpful. However, when trying to process our refund, she was assisted by a male worker who was quite frankly, rude and dismissive. As the four members of our party ordered their food and paid by card, we simply requested to have the refunds processed back to the cards that they came from. The man was not interested in doing this and insisted that we could only be refunded in cash. I am understanding of the docket being lost and the food not being prepared. Mistakes happen and I would not have felt the need to write a negative review if this was the only experience we had. However the male workers dismissive attitude and lack of care toward refunding our meal was very disappointing. Especially during a worldwide pandemic where contact free payment is encouraged and preferred, to be told that we could only be given cash was such a shame.

We did not enjoy our meals. The chips were tainted with another flavour. The 'veal' snitzel (Not schnitzel) was not veal (in my opinion) and the crumb was thicker than the meat. My husband was disappointed with his salad called caesar but it wasn't. The service was fantastic and the table and chairs were clean and the place was nice and bright.

The size of the serves are great. Nice, fresh and tasty food. Will definitely go there again.
