Tong's Chinese Restaurant

Fried scallops good as a starter, Sizzling Mongolian Lamb excellent. All serves of food at our table of 8 were large.

We booked for 6pm (two people) and arrived at 6.05pm. Stood at the door for nearly five minutes before we were attended to and given our table. We ordered at 6.15pm. Entree (spring rolls) arrived at 6.25pm, only luke warm. couldn't drink out of the glasses provided as they were streaky and noticeably dirty. at 7.10pm we asked when out food might arrive and it came to us approximately 5 minutes later. Honestly, the food was very bland and tasteless. We could have been mistaken that we ordered braised onions with a little beef satay. Observations were that priority was being given to the take-away window as there was a continual stream of people. Sad as we are only in Broome for three nights and wasted this one.

Disappointing! Expensive for what it was. More Thai than Chinese. Never tasted Chinese like it before. Small serves . Rice tasted reheated and dry. Chinese tea was a tea bag not actually tea. Staff were nice and friendly though decor was ok.

Horrible food.nMore Thai than Chinese.nnAsked for Chinese tea, got a tea bag. Satay was odd mix of frozen vegies, packet seafood and stringy odd almost off tasting meat, hope we don't get sick. Small portion mostly supermarket frozen veges. Satay sauce? Non existent, thin and watery liquid, faint flavour of satay, no peanuts were harmed, must be a Thai thing.nnKway teow was pad Thai, ok but not chinese. Steamed rice was not fresh, recycled from yesterday I think.nnDecore 70's wood panelling over peeling wallpaper. I like the Chinese lanterns though.nnWaitress was nice enough but didn't know the menu, must be new?nnOwner overcharged us, claiming she didn't know the price of her own steamed rice, wonder how often she pulls that one? Nice try.nnOverpriced bad food experience. I don't recommend. This is the best in Broome?nnShame.

Great food, very friendly service. Food arrived on time and fresh off the pan. Best Chinese in Broome by a mile! Will definitely be going back, thank you for a great night!
