It’s been only about 5 months since I have joined with Hands on People and I can’t believe what a change they have brought into my life! I am so happy and satisfied that I am provided with the best assistance and services that I have ever got. The wonderful friendly staff paves the way for us to have fun and a laughter even in the difficult times and they always encourage us to open-up. I attend the day centre and have made many friends, and got myself engaged into various creative activities.nnMoreover, we have kids during the school holidays at the day centre and it’s great to have them as it make us feel like we are home. In fact, The Inclusion Centre has turned out to be like a second home for me, as we are treated like a family there, which is not a small thing for many of us. I am so thankful and greatly appreciate the organization’s efforts that made a great difference in my life. ud83dude42

I was so glad I did my work placement with this agency. Because Hands on People (HOP) had taught me not just the skills that will be beneficial to me in my career pathway, but also I learned the right attitude and values too. There were no wasted time at HOP as everyone are working efficiently on their specific roles to provide a quality of service to their NDIS participants. I witnessed how the staffs supported their NDIS participants to enhance their independence and improved their quality of life. Being part of the HOP family for 3 months, I was able to meet and work with different participants and noticed their progression as their lives and independence skills had improved under the care and supports of HOP.

I was with HOP since April until December 2020. the management of this organisation is terrible, extremely poor complaints resolution process (no response to majority of the complaints i made), they punish you as a NDIS service user if you make a complaint by getting all your booking requests wrong, sending workers to wrong locations for pick up, not sending you your timetable to confirm your weekly schedule, banning workers from helping you with things you need help with, etc. Also many of their drivers are unsafe drivers (so unsafe they should not be on the roads, and one fell asleep at the wheel, other drivers almost ran off the roads, some international students who were my workers were too tired during their shifts to even help me, some other workers were always on their mobile phones and not helping me), and HOP do not act on health and safety issues for their clients or workers when complaints about health and safety are made, one worker showed up to work sick coughing all over me when he knows i am immune disabled and lung disabled, and HOP didn't even mandate him to get covid tested when i was in lock down myself til the worker got covid tested 6 days later, way after they had gotten better from their symptoms. they also refused to provide me with the support i need in the cyclone (help to get to a cyclone shelter before weather conditions worsen, debris covers roads and roads flood), they refused to provide support at short notice (when cyclone warnings comes) until i threatened to take legal action against them over it, then they said they would provide me with the support my doctor states i need in the cyclones, so i had to fight HOP for having a worker come get me from my non-cyclone-coded housing for many many weeks. if i come back to darwin, i would not go with this organisation again, they pay their workers low pay of $26 an hour when NDIS pay rates are like $54 an hour, and i do not support how this organisation operates, i feel places their workers and clients health safety and lives at risk. many of their positive reviews online are from employees in service coordination positions and others may be from friends/family of the family owned business (but i am unsure) but i feel this is a conflict of interest in their current reviews online and i do not trust this organisation. I will be making reports to the disability workforce commission and to worksafe against this organisation and giving all the evidence i collected along my time with HOP. Many of the workers are really lovely people at this organisation, and they are doing their best, but some things this organisation does makes it like they think they're above the law, and they could improve on so many things especially having a dedicated complaints worker to resolve complaints in less abusive ways, or in ways that do not ignore the issue while it gets worse and worse and worse. their red work car is smashed in at the back and they wont tell me who did this, if it was a worker i made a complaint about (with giving witness evidence of other cars number plates who witnessed the near miss crashes while i was passenger with dangerous workers driving) then HOP are responsible for any one who dies on darwin's roads as a result of their poor complaints management and quality/safety handling. If i had a son or daughter, i would not let them (NOT ever) go with HOP as their disability provider organisation. I ended up hiring workers off Mable and workers who worked for themselves were a lot better than HOP. not all workers at HOP were bad, some of them were amazing (5 stars) but i had been given over 50 workers in my time at HOP, as i have a lot of urgent short notice medical appointments for my disabilities, so i had worked with a lot of their workforce. but based on the way this organisation function and handle complaints that put other peoples lives at risk of dying, I think this organisation is corrupted and should be shut down and have management sacked for their corruption and abuse.

I’m with HOP since 2019 and It has been a great blessing to be able to work with these bunch of lovely and energized people who are so flexible than most organizations out there! If you are a person who has a disability then HOP is the one! I am truly amazed with the care, kindness and help they provide me with! I don’t think I want to leave this place because they make me feel at home! I love this place and it is highly recommended! Thanks ud83dude0a
