The trip from the Cooktown airfield to Cairns Queensland Australia was just 'out of this world's. Over snaking rivers, deep bush, hills and Great Barrier Reef, atolls, as well. Fantastic!! Well worth the money ($119 compared to bus $85)

Nice quick flight to Cairns from Cooktown. Just arrive at the airport 1hr before departure. You get a snack and a small water for the short flight.

I fly often and on this trip the plane arrived promptly and the pilot was a confident lady named Esther. The trip was in a Cessna 404 Titan with about 7 other people.nnWhile it's easy to become anxious when travelling by small plane the pilot, pre flight, was reassuring explaining what certain alarms meant i.e. cruising altitude pre sets etc and answered all my questions. This gives time to enjoy the countryside from 9000 feet.nnWe flew in slightly windy conditions and Esther landed the plane soft touch. Esther confided later it was the plane. Fair enough - but its comforting to be around pilots that are methodical, attentive and professional.nnSome people are meant to fly planes. Hinterland Aviation do a great job.
