Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville

Excellent location. Get a room with balcony, thank me later. Lovely staff. Kudos to the kitchen manager who made me coffee even after the kitchen was closed ☺️. I'll visit again..

Stayed for an overnight before a roadtrip, all staff we came across were very friendly. The front desk staff were professional and kind, the bar staff were also great. The views from the top are wonderful, especially of a night too. The pool was also on the top level but didn't pay it a visit during our stop. Room was tidy and had enough space for 2 of us in a double bed each. Bathroom was quite nice and roomy too. We had the breakfast included in our stay for the next morning, of which both ladies running it were friendly and helpful. They did well with the current rules in place and serving the food/drinks for everyone. All services were done with a smile and friendly tone, there really was nothing to complain about! I look forward to my next stay here in January!

Being the tallest building in Townsville, it has amazing views over the city and beyond. The staff are great and the beds very comfortable. Although an older style building on the outside, the rooms are modern and comfortable. The only drawback being a limited room service menu. The hotel is centred perfectly to nice restaurants and bars though and only a few minutes walk to supermarkets and attractions. A great place to stay.

Our stay was at this hotel for quarantine purposes, arriving from Melbourne in order to move to our new home in Palm Cove. Before we arrived I rang and found out that this was the only quarantine hotel in Townsville, where we were going to fly to, so I rang to ask about certain requirements. I rang on 2 occasions and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. I am on a specific diet and they explained it would be catered for, which I cannot thank the hotel enough for. We also asked about having a balcony, which we got. When we arrived my food needs were addressed and I had many conversations with all of the most obliging staff. Our stay with them continued with the same helpful, obliging and supportive staff. Every phone call I made to reception was met with a happy, friendly voice who followed up on every request and requirement we needed. We were given extra supplies for our room. I even ordered coffees and danish at the cafe next door and they went and got for us and brought it up to our room. We were supplied with fresh linen twice a week which was more than adequate for our stay. All Coles online orders were brought up to the room with a friendly smile and not just left at the door, but personally handed to us. The food was very varied, enjoyable and was more than enough. We were even given muffins which we were able to keep for snacks in between meals. My dietary needs were fully addressed and catered for extremely well. This was the ongoing picture of our stay for quarantine, which ended up feeling more like a relaxing holiday. The balcony was more than adequate to get our daily dose of fresh air and we were able to speak to people near us on the balcony, at an adequate quarantine distance. The girls in reception addressed me by name and it was lovely once we were out of quarantine to be able to go down to the reception desk and thank the staff in person. This was such a positive and enjoyable experience in quarantine for both my husband and myself thanks to the wonderful staff at this hotel. We would like to thank everyone at this hotel for making our quarantine stay with them such an enjoyable one and positive experience.
