One of our favourite camps in Qld. Plenty of space for large caravans to tent sites. Very clean long drop toilets. Beautiful beach with a great view of Fraser Island.

Just a beautiful place, Rainbow Beach close by. Well worth a day trip or choose from one of the many accommodation or camping options available in this area.

I've been visiting Inskip point for 40 years as part of my passage to Fraser Island. This iconic place continues to amaze. With more campers than ever before, and beach erosion changing its shape each year it still holds the magic for young families wanting the thrill of camping at the beach.

The beach at Inskip Point is just beautiful and the views over to Fraser Island are amazing. The sand is so fine it squeaks when you walk on it. The waters are warm and calm and there is about a 10m shallow sand area before it drops off into deeper water. There is no coral here but plenty of small fishes if the kids want to snorkel. Because the point sits at the mouth of the Tin Can Inlet (20km long) and opposite Fraser Island (which has the Great Sand Strait separating it from Australia) the tidal flow at the point can be quite strong so be aware of this if you swim in water deeper than you can stand in. Inskip is the jumping off point for 4x4 adventurers taking the barge to Fraser.nnThe road to Inskip from Rainbow Beach is sealed all the way and there’s plenty of parking at Inskip. If your into camping there is about 2.5km of camp grounds on the ocean side of the drive just before you get to Inskip. The ground is sandy and there is shade from the scrubby trees to pitch your tend under or park your van. The camping ground has ablution blocks scattered along it and looks to be only about 100m wide and abuts the beaches.nnI did some casting practice (no fish caught hence not fishing) but had plenty of bites and saw fish chasing bait a few hundred meters off the beach on 2 occasions. Perhaps you will have more luck (or skill) than me.....tight lines !!
