Charles Darwin National Park

Not wonderful for walking, but there are some nice mtb trails and very nice spot for a picnic. Our visit, though hot and muggy, was remarkably bug free.

Amazing for bike riders

A well kept park with not a lot to do if you're not into nature. If you go for a walk take plenty of water, wear sunscreen etc. There are some WW2 relics (mainly storage bunkers) scattered around the car park area and road out, with some more WW2 relics further down the walking path. Don't wear thongs/a singlet around dawn/dusk as there are all sorts of biting insects in the area.

Great park with expansive city views. Some interesting WWII storage facilities. You must wear long pants or use significant insect repellent. During a 10 min excursion in a ammunition bunker I Finished up with 50 midge bites that took days to swell and weeks to heal.

A nice bike ride from the marina to the national park. Hot but a good day out!
