Looking for an oasis in the middle of nowhere? Well, this is the place for you. Here you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the NT, whether you stay in your own caravan, or, as I did, in the pub cabins, you are sure to enjoy your stay. Many years ago someone tamed the natural hot springs of the area to leave us with a large extremely enjoyable warm swimming pool. With seats around the edges made from the natural rocks of the area you can sit and relax, or chat with your friends and family or even meet new friends. The temperature is divine, the water crystal clear and the pool is surrounded by tropical palms and vegetation, landscapes to a relaxed perfection. There are several walks throughout the area accessible from the Homestead, and birds and wallabies galore. Mosquitoes are a plenty as well, unfortunately, but it's the tropics, so what would you expect. The pub at the Homestead has a few varieties of beer, wine and spirits, and of course, cool drinks for the young and non drinkers. Live entertainment every night makes Mataranka Homestead a very enjoyable experience. Hopefully, Nathan 'Whippy' Griggs will be performing his truly outstanding Outback show - what a treat! The cabins were old and basic, with air-conditioners keeping you cool. Unsealed bathroom windows did nothing to keep the mozzies away, however this takes very little away from the overall experience at Mataranka Homestead. Highly recommended.

Staff are lovely, nice place to enjoy the thermal springs and then have a coldy afterwards. Stayed for a meal but were SO disappointed. 20 years ago we had the best steak in Mataranka that we have ever eaten but tonight was more like old Bessie was past her use-by date so they cooked her up... tough and flavourless :(

First time staying there. My partner and I very much enjoyed our time camping! A short walk to the thermal pool was very nice. There was quite a lot of bats which I was expecting. The camping spot we had, the ground was quite hard to get our pegs into but we managed.

Best thing was the close proximity to the thermal pool. Food was absolutely discusting. Rooms would have been 1 star in the 70s. If you can stay somewhere else in town do it...

Camped here years ago and loved it! This time we just stopped there for a swim at the thermal pool and also had lunch at the bar before hitting the road again. Look forward to stopping there again on our way back home
