Wonderful trip over in the boat. Not much choice for lunch. Seafood basket $23 and all seafood low grade frozen food served in cardboard container. A bit disappointing for such a lovely setting. Great swimming beaches and pool.

The Marineland Melanesia crocodiles and museum is the best bit apart from the scenery and the water.nThe boat transfer and glass bottom coral viewing were good, the island staff are great.nDownside - coffee closes at 1.30pm, food at 2.30pm and cold drinks at 3.30pm. So you can't find anything to eat or drink after those times.

Overall its a good place to visit as it is my first time to come to QLD. Small island can walk around within 25 minutes fast. Not an ideal place for a swim as the reefs is shallow but a popular area for snorkel. Food on the island cost about twice more than on land. Seafood basket $22 on a smaller scale. Might consider go to the boat at jetty for a buffet lunch if you visit.

We lucked out on our visit to Green Island. The tide was out so snorkelling was difficult, there was construction going on at the entrance and you had to duck out of the way of forklifts on the main path, and all of the stores and food places were shut except for two. The bar wouldn't serve us as we weren't staying on the island, even though there were only two customers in the place, and the kiosk that would serve us only had basic fried food and sandwiches. The two winning points I would make about the island are that the beaches were great and the people at Marineland Melanesia were extremely friendly and informative.

Amazing experience for the whole family. We enjoyed the small walk around the island, snorkeling with turtles, fishes of all sizes and corals. There is an interesting experience whereby you can hop onto a ship with glass windows underneath the surface which allows you to spot many fishes, turtles and corals should you not be comfortable with snorkeling. Truly magical for kids (and grown-ups)
