It's my first time at Phil bean. My friend has been there many time. She recommended me to order set menu. We chose Jupiter set so you get 2 starters, 2 soup 1 sizzling and 1 noodle dish to share. It was good value for $25/person so you can try a bit of everything.nMy pork bone soup was delicious and the spicy pork bulgogi was yummy too.nIt was busy today lucky we got the table but I'd recommend for anyone to make a booking

Easily one of the best, most underrated hidden gems for Korean food in Perth. Delicious food and a menu that ventures past the go to dishes, makes this place very exciting. The set menu options are so fantastic.

Friendly service & food was served quite swiftly considering business was picking up for lunch hour rush.nFood was ok, portioning was so so, rice was quite small..nOverall, had better Korean food elsewhere..nWill I return, not so sure..

Authentic Korean food

The two star rating is only for the food alone and none for the services as our last dining experience at Phill Bean before 2021 was unfortunately ruined by a rude lady waitperson.nWe have been a local for years, and have previously been very happy with both the food and the services, both while dining as a family or with friends and groups.nHowever, we were flabbergasted to experience a very unprofessional middle aged lady waitperson when we went for dinner on a Monday evening. As my wife was hungry, we booked for 2 adults and a high chair for a quick meal, with our intention for me to look after our baby while she eats because I was already full.nThe restaurant was reasonably full at 715pm, & we are happy to set up our table and high chair ourselves because the lady waitperson seems to be the only staff serving while the others are in the kitchen. After waiting for a while with no service, twice i walked up and approached her at the front counter to ask her to take our orders, hoping it will save her time. And twice she retorted back that she will come to our table to take our orders instead.nWhen she finally came to our table, my wife ordered her favourite, their Korean chicken ginseng rice hotpot with extra rice. The waitress then asked “IS THAT ALL?” in an incredible tone, which took us by surprise. We explained yes I wasn’t hungry and we know the hotpot is quite large. She then retorted “YOU NEED TO ORDER ANOTHER DISH, ITS THE GENERAL RULE”, and when I asked her to please show me where it stated that as it’s the first time we were ever asked, she just turned and walked away in a huff.nAfter reading several reviews as a result of her actions, it seems there are quite a few similar complaints about this waitress among diners’ reviews unfortunately.nTo be fair and reasonable, we always enjoyed the food there, and i will be happy to re-rate the venue in the future if the services improve at our next visit, whenever that may be.nI sincerely wish the management will rectify this customer service issue and improve the dining experience of both new and regular loyal customers alike.
