Emergency Services? What Emergency service? I spent the whole weekend in the Emergency ward, in and out because I still had pain in my upper stomach and they thought it was gastro reflux?? 😣 But I knew it was something different so, my pain started at 8pm on Saturday and we called the ambulance strait away and at that time I lived at one of the houses next to the helicopter pad near the JCU hospital but we waited for 4 hours for an ambulance, so my partner had to take me on a wheelchair to the Emergency ward, talk to the lady's at the front desk about where my pain is, and they knew strait away that I had gastro reflux and just gave me a little drink and some tablets , I went out of the emergency ward with my gastro reflux tablets that they gave me at the front of the desk and a few steps out of the hospital I took the tablets at 4 in the morning and got up at 6am still with that pain but way woser, I called the ambulance on sunday and they did come straight away, thank god, so they took me into the ward, that lady from the front desk looked at me and said "well what are you doing back here?" I was like, are you serious!!! I'm in pain, you supposed to help me!! Anyways I slept on the bed all morning till 4ish in the afternoon and still in pain, mind you... I then saw the doctor and they took me to an ultrasound, after that they gave me a stronnnng painkillers through a drip and they told me I had 5 Goldstone and one was stuck in the kidney tube?? Don't know what goldstone are but they hurt alot!!! 😠I just hope they treat others better then me, I was in pain for 2 whole days and noone help me while I was crying on the bed. God Bless and stay Safe!
This hospital is so incompetent. It operates similarly to a country care facility. Wait times in Emergency are ridiculous, you're more likely to be seen in a timely manner if arriving by ambulance for the same symptoms. Staff are scarce and vague, so requesting information even has a wait time. Needs an overhaul to be up with the other state hospitals, just not good enough. Disgusting!
Worst hospital in Australia...
Rude doctors with no empathy, most nurses where great however one causing a lot of extra pain due to her unnecessary physical actions...
The director of nursing was excellent and took my complaint personally prior to leaving hospital. I just hope she follows through as this experience/treatment I received would quite easily be considered assault....
If I could give 0 stars I would. The TUH discharged my daughter after hours in the ED, no blood test, no scans, given a full 6 month history of how much time she has had off school to un-diagnosed pain, in and out of the GP and a known history of anemia. Three weeks later she nearly died, we took her to the Mater and within an 1.5 hrs they had a diagnosis for our daughter, chronic appendicitis with the beginnings of blood poisoning from the infection it had gone on so long. Our daughter was in hospital for two weeks and is still recovering to be well enough for surgery (at the mater). Needless to say we have finally received a watered down response letter from THHS which I am not happy about as it has not fully addressed the questions. If you can't go to the mater, you may as well just google doctor your symptoms to ascertain your diagnosis as the doctors in ED seem incapable of looking past the nose in front of their face.
