Boat Power

What a company and one that I would never use or even recommend to anyone. Initial phone call was excellent with what I thought was correct but after declined rapidly. We wanted a Cel Fi Go Telstra Repeater fitted to our 9.75m Catamaran. Yes they advised we just installed one the week before. The antenna would be fitted to the mast and the unit in the saloon.nPerfect, paid up front for unit and labour, never received an invoice/receipt and after several requests still nothing. At the time the boat was on hardstand and the installer attended and said he would install the antenna at the back of the boat and he was advised that it was to go on the mast as discussed otherwise take the unit and give a full refund. The installer obtained a scissor lift and installed the antenna only half way up the mast as he said he didn't have enough cable. Was fitting the antenna he then taped the tip to the mast. About an hour all up the unit was installed and he departed. No instruction on what needs to be done or how to operate. Upon googling we found that the boost was only good for 2 m radius with was useless as the catamaran is 19' wide and about 30' long. Made a call to the supplier and they advised that the unit that was installed was for small boats and that we required the larger unit which has a radius of 20metres and needed the antenna on top of the mast not halfway and the indoor aerial unit required the larger wall mount aerial and was going to cost us. Rang Boat Power and got a couldn't care less attitude and advised would call back. Still waiting. Sent several emails. Still waiting.nIn the end we were helped by Powertec who were outstanding and their customer service was excellent and supplied us with the correct equipment required. Cel Fi Go Repeater/Booster is absolutely the best to have when sailing, however go direct to Powertec and the cost is actually half of what Boat Power charge. Don't be ripped off.
