Longreach Railway Station

Historical site.

As stations go this is well worth a look. Well maintained historic site and still in use. A lesson for others.

Iconic and historic public building, that is not only functional but with very informative displays about the establishment of rail from Rockhampton some 40years prior to the contruction of an all weather road. The coming of the rail head to Longreach saw it eclipse Barcaldine as the regional hub and remain so ever since. For those who are arriving by train, the station is located at the end of the main Street, and most accommodations are with walking distance.

Great service assisted with requests for all the tourists requests we had while in the area ,their server was down but when back on line they were back to us as quickly as possible
