Construction of the church began in 1930. It is built of small bricks, covered with copper and tiles and has a bell tower with one bell. Before the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the church owned the relics of the Holy Great Martyr Marina (Mary of Fire). It is believed that the relics were brought to the church from Jerusalem by one of the priests from the Popović family. After the war, the relics were transferred to the monastery of St. Nicholas on Ozren. The seat of the parish of Brijesnica-Lukavac is located in the church of the Holy Trinity, and the parish includes the following villages: Tumare, Brijesnica Donja, Brijesnica Gornja and Karačić.
