Crkva Sv.Prepodobnog Sisoja Velikog

The Church of the Venerable Sisoje the Great is a votive church in the village of Miškovci. It is located on the southern slope of the hill Vis, in the village cemetery, and next to the village road Miškovci - Trstenci. It is nine kilometers away from the municipal center, and one kilometer from the main road Derventa - Prnjavor. The church was built in 1979 on the site of an earlier church (cell). Every year, on the feast of Saint Sisoje on July 19, a large number of Orthodox believers come to the church to pray. With the blessing of His Eminence the Bishop of Zvornik and Tula, Mr. Photius, the temple in Miškovci received a particle of the relics of the Venerable Sisoje the Great. On the eve of the feast of the Venerable Sisoje the Great, a part of the relics was brought to the church for the spiritual benefit of the believers of our region. The reception was attended by an extremely large number of our faithful, as well as the day after at the Liturgy. Several priests of our vicarage served at the mentioned Liturgy: the archpriest's vicar, Derventa archpriest-staurophore Radojica Ćetković, proto-vicar Siniša Maksimović and priest Ljubiša Nović. A large number of believers partook of communion to the general joy of the church. The Holy Liturgy was followed by a procession around the temple, as well as the consecration of the feast cake and the selection of the godfather for the following year.
