The construction of the temple of the Birth of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Skugrić (Republika Srpska) began in 1937, and the temple was completed in 1940. For a village inhabited by Serbian people, this temple represented the place of gathering, mating and performing services in the constant struggle for the survival of the past decades. In the nearby cemetery, the people of Skugric only in 2003 built a memorial to the soldiers of the Avala and Smederevo Corps, who were buried in Skugric in 1945, and their gravestones, two years later, were brutally destroyed by the communists.
