is Sarajevo's old bazaar and the historical and cultural center of the city. Baščaršija was built in the 15th century when Isa-Beg Isaković founded the city. Baščaršija is located on the north bank of the river Miljacka, in the municipality of Stari Grad. On Baščaršija there are several important historic buildings, such as the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque and sahat-kula. Today Baščaršija is the major tourist attraction of Sarajevo. Baščaršija's famous mosque was built by Havedža Durak in 1528, and Gazi Husrev-beg built his mosque in 1530.

This area is really nice. Take a look there and see how old and new can be together.

Really beautiful, and true gem of Sarajevo city. Place where You can enjoy ordinary, Turkish coffee, burek and cevapi! So many souvenirs shops... We bought seeds and fed birds, kids loved it!

Loved the old square. Lots of different and interesting people, shops and cultures. Definitely the number 1 place you have to visit in Sarajevo.
