This day we tried visiting several art galleries in Sarajevo but unfortunately a lot of them were closed or shut down. When we finally arrived at The Art Gallery of B&H we were really happy to visit two exhibitions there: the permanent one "intimacies of space" and the temporary one with Milton Glaser. Both were well curated and really interesting! The staff was very welcoming and helpful and we had a really nice talk in the end of our visit. Opening hours are great (Monday-Sunday, 10 am - 8 pm) and the price of 5 KM (2,50€) is totally fine! We hope that in the future many more people will appreciate the effort of the people working there. Since Sarajevo has a lot of great art to offer it is tragic to see that it doesn't get the necessary support. Love from Germany

My review addresses only the permanent exhibition on the second floor, which was the only section open to the public the day I came. I was quite disappointed. Sure, there are some beautiful paintings on display, but the whole idea of a national art gallery is to convey a narrative or at least a sense of what Bosnian art is (what’s particular about it, how it has interacted with international tendencies, who the major artists are, what the evolution is over time...). None of this is articulated at any point in any way, and all you’ll find are 4 panels explaining the 4 major topics around which the exhibit is structured and small placards next to each painting with some very basic information. Overall, quite disappointing, but then the 5 mark admission fee won’t cause major harm to your budget, so you may just as well drop by.

contemporary art museum. hosts a small permanent and some temporary exhibitions. Not that big but a nice museum to get a glance on Bosnian contemporary art

Interesting collection of art on three floors. The ground floor has some sculptures but the information leaflet I was not available in English to provide some explaination of the sculptures. On the 2nd floor is a good collection of art produced entirely by Bosnian artists. On the 3rd floor, artistic themes are explores through three sections: Garden, Landscape and House interiors. Cost of Entry is 5KM.There is no elevator.
