The holy apostles Peter and Paul are considered the first preachers and teachers of the New Testament faith in Christianity.
The Holy Apostle Peter was of Jewish descent, and before he became an apostle of God his name was Simon. He is the brother of the holy apostle Andrew the First Called.
By profession he was a fisherman, by nature simple-minded and God-fearing, he kept the commandments of the Lord.
He was married to the sister of the apostle Barnabas.
His brother Andrew said to him one day: "We have found the Messiah, Christ" and took him to Jesus, and Jesus, looking at him, said to him: "You are Simon, son of Jonah, you will be called Cephas (Peter)" ( John 1:42).
He was the first of the disciples to express his faith in the Lord Jesus by saying, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matt. 16:16).
His faith was gradually established, because when the Lord was brought before the court, Peter denied him three times, but because of that he repented and then became a strong and fearless preacher of the Gospel.
Jesus himself confirmed Peter as the supreme pastor of his Church.
After breakfast, Jesus asked Peter, "Peter, do you love me more than these?" He answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He saith unto him, Feed my lamb.
He asked him a second time, "Peter, are you kissing me?" He answered him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you!" He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
He asked him a third time, "Peter, do you love me?" Peter was saddened to ask him a third time, "Do you love me?" And he said unto him, Sir, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. ”(John 21:15 17).
By the ascension of our Lord, St. Peter, as supreme among the apostles, was the first teacher and preacher. It is believed that Christ gave him the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
King Nero sentenced him to death, and was crucified, but upside down, because they thought he was not worthy of the same death as God.
The Holy Apostle Paul was called Saul before the apostleship.
He is originally from the city of Tarsus. At first he was a persecutor of Christians and their tormentor, but God chose him as his disciple.
On the way to Damascus, the Lord Himself appeared to him and said to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" in the Lord Christ.
Ananias was astonished and said: "Lord, he has come to persecute, to persecute us Christians constantly." The Savior told him, "He will be a great beacon and a great martyr in my name." And indeed, Ananias baptized the apostle Paul, blessed him and he saw.
At Saul's baptism, he was given the name Paul and dedicated himself to the apostolic ministry.
He preached the gospel throughout the world.
Throughout all the years of his preaching, he hung day by day as one weak thread between life and death.
Having filled all the days and nights with toil and suffering for Christ, he organized the church in many places, and since he reached that measure of perfection, he could say, "I do not live, but Christ lives in me."
It was visited in Rome, in the time of Emperor Nero, when the Apostle Peter.
We must not forget that our Trebinje is blessed with the visits of St. Paul and St. Peter.
According to popular belief, Saint Peter replaced the chains with Saint Sava, so it happens that on Savindan the days are warm, and around Petrovdan they are fresh ...
It's hard for us to please people. I'm okay. The temple is beautiful and I remember it since the '90s when it was not built. What I think is missing is a cultural and church life in the form of lectures or concerts of spiritual music. My opinion is that the clergy should educate parishioners, especially young people. And I have not noticed that such activities exist.
When the bells are clogged, the sarcastic noise. Pope, cut down a little experience!
A beautiful small temple in the center of the city, has a special vibrancy and beauty during the Orthodox rituals of baptism and wedding.
One of the most beautiful temples in the area.
