Just great, we had an invalid passport (expired) and had to get a confirmation. For Bosnia it is known to need half a day for a signature, but here everything went so quickly and easily and FRIENDLY ..... Many, many thanks

As you might have guessed ... everything quickly and accurately and expeditiously! More professional than friendly but without any problems ... For more detailed information, my recommendation is either to come in person or to call the embassy telephone number during business hours ... As an official representative office of Switzerland, the embassy covers all issues concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Embassy represents the interests of Switzerland in the fields of political, economic and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture. In addition, the Embassy is responsible for implementing the programs of cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland. Consular services (issuance of passports, identity cards, registration) are provided to the Regional Consular Center in Vienna, excluding the personal status of citizens remaining under the jurisdiction of the Swiss Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Embassy of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina is representing Switzerland regarding the issuance of short-stay visas in the Schengen countries (type A and C). Contact the Swiss representative office or the consulate in the country of destination if you want to register or unsubscribe as a resident, if you need a new passport, if you have moved or want to apply for citizenship. Swiss citizens who are embroiled in troubles abroad can also seek advice and assistance from the Swiss representative office in the country. Information is primarily provided in German, French, Italian or English. Issues of personal status of citizens (marriage, birth, death, etc.) are under the jurisdiction of the Swiss Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this page you will find information on the procedures and documents that you must present in order to register an event related to your personal situation in the Infostar Registry. If you do not find the answer to your specific question about an event related to your personal situation, you can contact the Embassy of Switzerland in Sarajevo. Diplomatic relations between Switzerland and BiH were established in 1992, when Switzerland recognized BiH as an independent state. Switzerland opened an embassy in BiH in November 1995, while BiH opened its embassy in Switzerland in 1993. Since then we have been working on a wide range of issues, such as development, economics, security and culture. Over the past 20 years, Switzerland has invested around 560 million Swiss francs (more than a billion BAM) throughout BiH to contribute to achieving a secure and stable future for the country. We fully support BiH on its European path. Our two countries share European values, such as democracy, the rule of law, human rights, social and cultural openness, and solidarity that respects diversity. Together with our domestic partners, we are making significant efforts to build a modern and efficient administration in many municipalities. We support chiefs who encourage residents of their municipalities to become active citizens. So more and more citizens get the opportunity to participate in decision making and actively contribute to community development. In addition, Switzerland is helping to improve primary health care in the villages and cities. In our work we place a special emphasis on employment of young people. Young women and men in BiH must have more opportunities, and better opportunities and prospects to build a life for themselves in their homeland. They need to be able to realize their dreams and actively engage in the development of the country. To accomplish this, it is crucial to find a decent job. There are many additional activities that our two countries jointly implement, such as a partnership for migration, cooperation between prosecutors and BiH support in overcoming the tragic legacy of the 1992-95 conflict. (removal of mines, identification of missing persons, processing of cases of early crimes). After catastrophic floods in May 2014, Switzerland provided six million Swiss francs for aid to endangered people across BiH. In this situation, as in many other cases, significant support was provided by the contingent of the Swiss Army, which operates within the EUFOR mission in BiH. An increasing number of Swiss people are visiting BiH, but also vice versa.
