St. Mary with the bell tower of St. Łukasza is located in the historical center of Jajce at the foot of the fortress, southwest of it. Only ruins remain of it - it burned down completely in 1832 and has not been rebuilt until today. The church tower (23 m), added in the 15th century, survived the fire, is called St. Luke and is today the only surviving medieval church tower in the continental Balkans.

It is located inside the historic core of Jajce, at the foot of the citadel. The church was built in the 12th century and rebuilt in the first half of the 15th century. In November 1461, according to the envoys of Pope Pius II and in the presence of a large number of nobles, the last Bosnian king Stjepan Tomašević was crowned in this church, who transferred the royal capital to Jajce, and thus became a capital city. During Ottoman rule, in 1528 the church was converted into a mosque and named after Sultan Suleiman II or the Fethiye Mosque. It burned down in an accidental fire in 1832, after which it was never rebuilt. As early as 1892, the building was declared a cultural monument by the Austro-Hungarian administration. On the northeast side of the building, a bell tower was built - the tower of St. Ports in late Gothic style, with hints of Renaissance expressions. The bell tower is the only preserved medieval bell tower in the continental part of the Balkans. It was named after the relics of St. Ports that were located inside the church. Remains of the Franciscan monastery church of St. Marija and the bell tower of St. The ports in Jajce are important monuments of spiritual culture.

A beautiful historical place, church chapels buried underground. An interesting sight to see. Great view from the height to the city.
