A sad story about a monument in Upper Pale ... In Upper Pale, above a fishpond near the waterfall on Miljacka, there is a small memorial plaque, carved in stone. We found the monument landed on the ground, removed from the burial site. According to the story of the villagers, the monument was set up on a mound, next to Miljacka. The remnants of the object, which we thought were medieval, began to spill on this stream. The villagers say that these are the remains of the brandy on Hadzisabanovic's water, and that there is a nearby tomb on which this memorial plaque lay. The story of this monument is completely sad and touching. The monument was erected to the murdered girl Micica Čarmak. At the monument he writes: "Here Mikika Čarmak is born here. September 29, 1902, killed by Montenegrin scouts on the 19th ... In 1914, this monument lifted her Mother. (Mother's fault) Eternal resting her in the gloom ... " According to the story being transmitted, this girl was killed by Montenegrin scouts (named after tobacco), paramilitary formations, gangs that came from Montenegro and entered the city. There are two versions of the story. A member of the Montenegrin Scythia was grateful to Gradina from the girl who stood on the window of her house and cursed with curiosity. He killed a little girl who was buried near her home. Another version is that the girl was washing clothes at Miljacka, not the place where her monument was erected. Only three months after the outbreak of the First World War, the Orthodox people of this region suffered great suffering. After the assassination of the Crown Prince Francis Ferdinand in Sarajevo, the people of this region were tortured, taken to the camps, hanged and shot. Paramilitary formations and gangs from Montenegro were wandering in these parts, looting villages and making zulumes. These formations were also frightened by the Austro-Ugrians, and the people of Gornji Pala were partially spared crime. We did not manage to find any records about these gangs. One thing is certain, that the tomb of this girl should be found and returned to the monument in his place.
