Next to the parish house, built in 1855-56, the foundations of the new monastery were laid in 1862. Drs. A residence was declared in Tolisa in 1869, and the monastery was officially established on January 12, 1876. The present monastery building was erected in 1923, and in 1986 the construction of a new monastery began, which took several years. The old monastery building will be used as a library, museum, and as a place for religious instruction. Although the monastery is one of the younger ones in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the cultural and artistic treasures it owns are not small. Several paintings by unknown masters date from the 18th century and stand out from them: Sv. Jerome, Stigmatization of Sv. Francis, these two paintings on the theme of the Madonna with Christ, one of which is of Venetian origin. From 19th century paintings portraits of several ecclesiastical persons are particularly interesting: Bishops J. J. Strossmayer and A. Miletić, Fr. Ilija Starčević and others. Fewer paintings date from the 20th century. The museum's collection contains valuable metal and textile objects, of which stand out: a chalice from the beginning of the 16th century. (a glass of chalice is from the 20th century), a Pauline casula from the 17th century, one casula from the first half of the 18th century, originating from Croatia, and several other 19th century mass attire items. The library has about 10,000 volumes. The works of older Croatian Franciscan writers (17th-19th centuries) stand out for their cultural value. Of the other rare editions, the Bible of 1651, printed in Amsterdam, Meminiski Arab-Turkish-Persian Dictionary (4 volumes, Vienna 1870), Gusanacci's Dictionary of Health (4 volumes), Constantin's History of Roman Emperors in Italian from the late 18th century, has a special place. (3 volumes). The library also contains numerous grammars of different languages from the 17th and 18th centuries. The archive is very rich in documents important for church history, especially in the Posavina part of Bosnia. It also preserves the handwritten legacy of prominent Franciscan cultural workers (M. Nedić, I. Starčević, J. Jelenić, etc.). Drs. In 1864, the construction of the largest church in Bosnia and Herzegovina (58x20 m) began in Tolisa, led by Đuro Eichorn from Osijek. It was modeled after the old Jesuit church in Osijek. It was qualified for use until 1873, but was only fully completed in 1881. In its architecture, it is a three-nave basilica with two bell-shaped bell-towers, and with two rows of columns in the interior. Since Bishop Strossmayer was friends with the Bosnian Franciscans, and in a special way with Fr. Martin Nedic, the first Bosnian Illyrian, he favorably viewed and assisted in the construction of the Tolis church. For her he donated two side altars from the old cathedral, the crucifixion of the sculptor I. Rendić and three paintings. The main altar and one side altar were made by Ivan Tordinac from Đakovo. Drs. In 1896, organs (13 registers) were procured from the church of Sv. Peter and Paul in Osijek. They were built by Caspar Fischer in Apatin around 1800. They are out of use today. The church was rebuilt in 1911. according to the design of Josip Vancaš. He had everything destroyed in the church except the exterior walls. In this way, the existing columns were also removed and four slimmer posts were installed instead. Barrel vaults in the nave were erected and five new altars and pulpits were erected in the church. The painter Anton Huber of Tyrol painted the walls and ceiling of the church. In the conch of the apse he painted the Holy Trinity and the Assumption of Mary, and on the wall of the oratory above the sacristy the Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci. In the main and side boats, 44 medallions depict the figures of Jesus, Mary and the saints. In 2002, the construction of stained glass began according to the design of V. Blažanović.
