Narail Government Victoria College

This is an important Centre of education and cultural activities.

Narail Victoria College was established in 1886 by Chandra Roy. The college was named after Queen Victoria of Britain. After the Partition of India in 1947, it faced financial difficulties and was nationalized in 1970.[1] This Institution was founded 1857 under the auspices of late babu Ramratan Roy, Zamidar of Narail, Encouraged by its success. The present manager (Chandrakanta Roy) sent up an application in April, 1886 to the syndicate of the University to autherise its affiliation up to the F.A students and the prayer was granted by the Govt. of India in their memo no. 162 of the 25th April 1886. The college from the past session (1892) has been raised to the status first grade institution with the sanction of His Excellency the Governor General in council.

This College is one of the historical College in Bangladesh. There are some old buildings which are not used now. The College campus is large.
