Uttara Bank Limited is one of the largest and oldest commercial private banks in Bangladesh. Uttara is operating with 223 branches and 600 foreign delegates. Utara Bank Limited was established in 1965. The name was "Eastern Banking Corporation". The main office was in Motijheel in Dhaka. After the war of liberation the government acquired the bank. In 1983, Bangladesh started operations as the first private bank. Utara Bank is operating with 220 online branches. In order to operate abroad, it is divided into 12 regions. Operate with 223 branches and 38 foreign trade branches. Associated with around 600 foreign financial replacements [1] Despite the recent recession in the banking sector of Bangladesh, Uttara Bank has been continuously making progress. Bangladeshi newspaper Merchant Message has declared Uttara Bank as one of the strongest banks on the basis of 7 suggestions. [2]
