Baliyakandi is an upazila under Rajbari district. Pansha Upazila of Rajbari to the north of Baliakandi, Sripur Upazila of Magura on the west, Madhukhali Upazila of Faridpur and Rajbari Sadar Upazila on the south. The unions are Jamalpur, Baharpur and Islampur. The main sources of income for the population are agriculture 8.6%, non-agricultural laborers 2.25%, industrial 5.6%, business 5%, transport and communication 1.2%, employment 5.6%, construction 5%, religious Services 3.3%, rent and remittance 5.25% and others 5.6%. Main crops Paddy, jute, sugarcane, oil seeds, khair. Extinct or nearly extinct crops Carpus, saffron. Main fruits Mango, jackfruit, coconut, banana.
