Grave of Tareque Masud

Renowned filmmaker Tareque Masud's grave is at his home in Nurpur, Bhanga upazila of Faridpur. On August 13, 2011, Chuadanga Deluxe Paribahan bus collided head-on with a microbus carrying Tareque Masud and Mishuk Munir at Pukhria in Ghior upazila on the Dhaka-Aricha highway. Five people including Tareque Masud and Mishuk Munir were killed on the spot. His wife Katherine Masud, painter Dhali Al-Mamun and his wife Dilara Begum Jolly and Saidul Islam, an assistant in Tareque's production unit, were injured in the microbus. Tareque Masud was the producer of many famous films including Muktiar Gaan, Matir Moyna, Adam Surat and Runway. This film personality was the eldest of 5 siblings. As a child, he studied in a local madrasa for some time. He then moved to Dhaka after completing his studies at Bhanga Pilot High School. Later he studied at Dhaka University.
