Pirganj- The holy land of Pir Sirajuddin Aulia. A growing town in the north of the country. An area blessed with nature, free from natural disasters. The agrarian economy has made the people of the agricultural area effortless, apathetic, somewhat indifferent. That is why the people of this region have been under house arrest for a long time. In the words of the poet, "I will see the world now" he did not leave the house. Didn't dream of anything creative, where other parts of the country have advanced a lot. But that may not be desirable. We have to move forward. We have to play a role for the nation. For this we want all beautiful educational institutions. This was thought by the education-loving, socially conscious and social activists of the area. 1982 Excluding primary school, it is only a boy's school. But in a village like Pirganj, this is by no means enough. Want a college. From where will come out worthy citizens and country builders. Many came forward to realize this dream but in the early sixties like today, realizing the dream of establishing a college was a difficult task. But where the determination is steady, where the zeal is indomitable, even the hills are crossed effortlessly. So "Pirganj College" saw the light of day as a newborn. The dream of establishing a college was born in 1962. The establishment of the college was completed in 1983 with the admission of students. But so many dream particles. There are many more ways to cross. The college has to get the full form. After the birth of Pirganj College in 1973, he began to walk slowly with a limp. In 1971, the desired independence came across the sea of ​​blood. Immediately after independence, "Pirganj College" was shifted from the school premises to the present college premises. Pirganj College got some speed and some physical infrastructure through cooperation, donations and grants from various quarters. So far Pirganj College has been transformed into "Pirganj Degree College". In 1986, the then President Hussein Mohammad Ershad visited Pirganj. One of his meetings was in the college premises. There it was announced that Pirganj College would be governmentized. Due to the implementation of that declaration in 1986, Pirganj College got the status of a government college. 2013. The long dream is to introduce honors course in Pirganj Government College. Under the successful leadership of Principal Prof. Md. Abdur Rahman, the long standing demands and dreams of the people of Pirganj were fulfilled by introducing Honors Course in Economics. Due to the indomitable will and efforts of the Principal, Honors Courses in Bengali, English, Accounting, Management and History and Culture of Islam were introduced in the next year i.e. 2014. 2015. The college has gone through half a century of ups and downs. I don't know whether Pirganj College can be called Ratnagarbha or Swarna Prasabini. But what he has given is not insignificant. Pirganj College has given birth to university teachers, engineers, doctors and bright stars studying abroad, many successful government officials.
