This place is outstanding! A rural farmer market in Dupchachia,Bogura. This place is widely known as "Dhap Hat", hat is a bengali word it means rural market or farmer's market in English. Some says that the Dhap Hat is the biggest farmer's market of the north bengal.But there is no strong evidence that will support this statement.But, honestly its huge,oldest and historical one. The speciality of this market is, it can be a rural market but one will find everything from households to livestocks.You name it they have it. The hat took place twice in a week Monday and Thursday. But, its more popular and crowdy in Thursday, its the main hat day. All products are sold here in wholesale as well as in retail.In main hat day(Thursday) wholesalers and retailers come from near far away and remote places to sale their products. I found each and every shopkeeper very helpful and well behaved. There are some must try and must buy items to mention. If you are going there must have foods are jalebi/jilapi,sweet meats and fresh fruits with spicy.Fries and spicy foods are also available there, but not that hygenic. Must Buy(if you need) items are, Fresh vegetables,(Seasonal and perennial),fresh fishes(Sea,river and pond), Fresh meats (Chicken,beef,mutton,lamb and buffalo meat) Fresh local chicken, Liquid milks and many more. There are paid washroom.And several restaurants for having foods. The most interesting part of this market is the fish corner and the birds corner.Because these parts has great diversity. Another worth to mention part is the home-craft part.In this part you will find mud,bamboo,wood,brass and thread made household things. Communication is very good and hassle free from Bogra city and Nowga City, first you jist need to reach Dupchachia from anywhere, then the hat is just a 10 min rickshaw distance from Dupchachia town. If one want to enjoy the best time, I will suggest to reach there before 8 a.m. Around 12 p.m All livestock sellers arrives at the hat, so the environment turns very crowdy. Its a safe place, but you have to be careful about your pocket.Because bad things can happen any time any where.Who knows!? Finally, if you want to witness the village market culture part of Bangladesh its a must place to visit.
