Bidakut Shatidah Temple
A place in the famous Bidakut village in the history of Nabinagar upazila. The place is located in the middle of the village. The place is a lonely place like a spooky house. Located here is a temple worn by about two hundred years old. The name of the temple is Sattidah Temple. It was built by Bidakut's famous Hindu Diwan house man Dewan Ram Manek. In this country, the tradition of Sati was in the Hindu society. When the husband died, the wife was cremated alive with the dead husband. In some cases new widows willingly died. But in most cases it was forced to burn. The loud voice and the musical instruments were played so that the voice of the living woman could not be shouted.
In 1829, Lord William Bentingham stopped the law in this inhuman and awkward tradition of Hindu society. After the banning of Sattidah by Lord Bennetting, this practice was stopped in other parts of India like Brahmanbaria. But in 1835, Ram Manik's mother was given the name of the last stone of this Sati Dhaara, the white stone of the last Sati Dahan Karini. During the last freedom war it was destroyed. The names of the Sati women are not known because Vidyakut has no descendants.
