The role of a library is to enhance the knowledge of not only the students but also the common people of a region. In countries like ours, although the number of these libraries is small, the number of libraries is not well maintained. This library in Bagerhat is located in a pleasant environment. Some distance away there is a government PC college, on the other side there are government schools. Apart from school and college students, other common people also flock here to read books and magazines; Although the number of people is much less. Many people also gather here to chat only.

The district govt. public library of Bagerhat is a two storey building located in a beautiful premises full of green trees and colorful flowers. The librarian Mr. Saidur Rahman has been doing a great job maintaining the library with great care. You'll find a good collection of books along with rare reference articles and from Jan 2021 the library has been provided with state of the art Wi-Fi equipment which will provide high speed fibre optic Wi-Fi internet connectivity for the readers and officers alike.
