It is indeed my immense pleasure and privilege to introduce the Union Bank Limited as a newly established full-fledged commercial Bank based on Islamic Shariah in Private Sector of Bangladesh. The Bank has emerged as a result of further liberalization of economic policies by the Government of Bangladesh to bring competitiveness in the banking industry. We have commenced our journey on 1st April, 2013 with an Authorized Capital of Tk.10,000 million and paid up capital of Tk.4,280 million. You will be glad to know that the Bank has been sponsored by a group of renowned personalities from the field of Trade, Commerce & Industry. The Bank has a total of 20 Directors, all of them are renowned businessmen in Bangladesh. Union Bank Limited has introduced online Banking with the help of the state-of-the-art banking software (ABABIL), which will enable the bank to perform as any branch real time banking services to the clients. UBL is supported by core banking solutions and products & services are strongly backed by ICT infrastructure, which are upgraded & expanded on continuous basis. The bank is running its payment system successfully through BACPS, BEFTN under BACH in order to boost up its business in multiple dimensions. Adopting BACH system as per guidelines of Bangladesh Bank, UBL ensures security, safety and hassle free faster transactions from one terminal to another. Moreover, the bank is effectively adopting regulatory guidelines on IT risk management. The bank is run by a group of highly professional and experienced bankers in order to render quick and quality services to our customers. A strong management team and efficient staff are very keen to accomplish the goal to become the most service-oriented bank in Bangladesh. We have so far introduced a number of customer-friendly Deposit and Investment Products which has already been acclaimed by all.  We have established correspondent relationship with some reputed overseas Banks and the process is continuing to establish mutually benefitted relationship with other Banks also.  We are committed to respond the needs of overseas customers. In addition to our network, Union Bank is going to establish a correspondent relationship with large local banks to ensure smooth and fastest delivery of funds across the country. We are in process to obtain membership license from VISA International and the same will launched as VISA Debit/Credit Card very soon. UBL is conscious of its social business responsibilities and is determined to participate in various social programs in the country in the days to come under its CSR portfolio giving special emphasis on health, habit & education. The bank will ensure better integrated idea of formal, informal & voluntary banking in the same platform.
