Bhairab River is one of the rivers located in Meherpur, Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, Jessore, Narail, Khulna, Chuadanga, Kushtia, Jhenaidah and Magura districts of Bangladesh. The length of the river is 242 km, the average width is 60 m and the nature of the river is spiral. The identification number of Bhairab river given by Bangladesh Water Development Board or "Paubo" is River No. 7 in the south-western region. It is a river in the southwest of Bangladesh. The cities of Khulna and Jessore are located on the banks of the river Bhairab. Other important cities along the coast include Mujibnagar, Meherpur, Garabaria, Chuadanga, Barabazar, Kotchandpur, Chougachha, Daulatpur and Bagerhat. The river is revered by Hindus as sacred.
