M.A.G. Osmani Medical College is a medical institute located in Sylhet, a divisional city in Bangladesh. Directly managed by the government, it was established in 1982; Which is currently one of the leading medical education institutes in the country. There has been a 5-year MBBS course at the undergraduate level with one-year hands-on learning (internship) since 1982; So that 198 students are admitted every year and BDS Dental Degree for 4 years has been running since 2012 where about 52 students are admitted every year. In addition to the main activities, training activities for nurses are conducted. The college is located in an area called Kajalshah in the north-eastern part of Sylhet city. History Sylhet Medical School was established in 1948 at Chauhatta in Sylhet city. After the movement to convert the school into a college, it was upgraded to Sylhet Medical College in 1962 under the government of Pakistan. The college campus was expanded in 1968-69. The campus has been located in Kajalshah area since 1981-82. After gaining independence, in 1979, the then government changed the name of the college to General Muhammad Ataul Gani Osmani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. Osmani Medical College ”which is known as Siomek for short.
