Prominent academician, politician, social reformer Barrister Anand Mohan Bose established the Mymensingh Institution on 1 January 183 at his ancestral home on Ram Babu Road in Mymensingh. Mymensingh Institution was later renamed as 'Mymensingh City Collegiate School'. The school introduced co-education system and taught at primary and secondary level.
