Faculty of Fisheries BSMRAU

The Faculty of Fisheries, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University was established in 2008, and started its academic program from Summer, 2009 with the goal of “generating enlightened and skilled graduate in the field of fisheries and aquaculture”. The vision of the faculty is to produce quality graduates with universal knowledge and innovative technology that promotes leadership in fisheries sector at national and International level. The faculty has been running with the undergraduate program, BS (Fisheries) following course credit system. The mission of the faculty is to contribute to the society by pursuing fisheries education, research and innovation for sustainable development. The faculty is currently running with five departments namely Department of Aquaculture, Department of Fisheries Biology and Aquatic Environment, Department of Fisheries Management, Department of Fisheries Technology, and Department of Genetics and Fish Breeding. Each of the academic departments has highly qualified teachers. Presently the undergraduate program is running with 4 batches having 213 students. The faculty is furnished with well-equipped graduate and undergraduate laboratories, a conference room, a library with cyber room, hatchery complex, wet laboratory and an enriched pond complex.
