One of the first movie theater at Cinelandia Square which unfortunately is overlooked. This cinema and theater dates back to late 20's and the atmosphere is still authentic. I watched a horror movie here on Halloween night and since the theater is rustic it created this great environment. You can tell they really try hard to preserve this amazing era: they still have their popcorn cart and sometimes they have an usher to show you your seat (dressed the same way they used to when the cinema first opened and a little flashlight to guide the way). It's a must go! If you're in Rio, I'm a local guide here. Feel free to get in touch with me through any social media: @DEBOMZAI

Stand-alone cultural center and movie theater thriving yet not located in a mall, as most of movie theaters.

This is one of the first movie theaters that Rio de Janeiro has built still operating. It is a trip in time to visit this place. The inside of the building was restored to look exactly like it did in the beginning of 1900's. Me and my wife watched a horror movie here and it was an amazing experience, it is very unfortunate that it is usually overlooked.nIf you need any help while you're in Rio, I'm Vinny, a certified tour guide in Brazil fluent in english and spanish. You can find me on any social media as @BrazilExperienceTours. I'll be glad to help you.

One of the oldest movie theaters in Rio, a please to visit at Cinelândia square, in Rio downtown. They ah é a Starbucks next door and a restaurant Amarelinho nearby, back door leads to Rival and Rivalzinho. Always something to do there
