I've been flying through GRU for six years now and it continues to improve each time. The international terminal is what you would expect for a major hub. It's not over the top like the Dubai, Doha, and some larger Asian hubs, but it has the modern design and amenities one would expect. More recently the domestic terminals have been improving and you can see this in all aspects from better restaurants and stores, fresher design, and better air condition. Still room to improve but much better than it was 5 years ago.

People at the airport were very helpful I do not speak Portuguese and they made sure that I made my flight. I was late, they even held the plane for me!

It's a terrible airport, built by shortsighted engineers. The layout is far from being desirable. There are not enough outlets to charge your phone. Airlines do not communicate with each other. Latam is a poor excuse for an airlines. The staff lack compassion to say the least. In this time of 2020 they don't speak or comprehend any other languages except for the native language. Pitiful is an understatement. Never want to ever revisit.
