The Museum of Ceará is a nineteenth-century building from 1876. It already housed the Provincial Assembly, the Electoral Court, a College of Law, the Ceará High School and, in 1990, became the Museum of Ceará.nCurrently, At 142 years of age, this historic building preserves its neoclassical Brazilian style and the Fortaleza city`s history.nThe Museum has collections telling the history of Ceará: Paleontology, Archeology / Indigenous Anthropology and Furniture.nWho visits the Museum finds permanent thematic exhibitions, with themes of interest in the history of Ceará, such as political powers, slavery, struggles and popular revolts, religiosity and intellectual production of Ceará.

Beautiful museum. A bit sad because of the history of slavery. Rich in history. But it deserves more funding. Some of the art deserves to be more protected, as it could easily break or be damaged. Definitely a museum to see.
