Pousada Casa Búzios

I just passed a weekend in Búzios with my wife and friends and this Pousada was the biggest highlight. It's an old estate with a French history settled right near the restaurant, shop, and bar scene Rua das Pedras. There are a handful of beautiful beaches also within walking distance. However, you'll feel quite comfortable sitting by the pool watching the sunset in the front area of Pousada Casa Búzios. They do a wonderful job of making you feel like you're in your own beach side home. I'll definitely be going back.

Five stars all the way. This place is perfectly charming, and their multilingual staff are hilarious. They allow pets, the rooms are cute, and the villa style of Greco-Roman decor is definitely photo-worthy.

This is a small, new and modern posada with nice rooms and decent breakfast with a very nice location, close to the main street with restaurants. My problem was with my reservation: even though I reserved for "Pousada dos Buzios" with the picture of its facade, they put us in a different place, a couple hundred meters away from the posada (on the street behind it), with a total different accommodation than the one offered on the Internet (old room, old bathroom, old bed covers), claiming they were making us an special "upgrade" to a bigger room. I felt completely cheated on since it was not what I was expecting. They said both posadas belong to the same owner and because of that, that offer both places as if they were the same: they're not. One is new and nice, the other is old and has not been taken care of as it should. After much talking, and joined effort with another guest who happen to be in the same situation, they gave us a room on the right Pousada the next day.
